Chief Walter Morrow, RN, CFRN, EMT-P joined Austin County EMS as the new EMS Chief / Director in May 2019. Chief Morrow was with East Bernard EMS for the last 10 years as the director. In addition he is a Certified Flight Paramedic (FP-C) as well as a Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN) and currently flies for PHI on Med-9 out of Richmond.

Chief Morrow has been with Texas A&M Task Force 1 Urban Search and Rescue since 1999 and holds an Advanced Fire Fighter Certification by the Fire Marshal's Association of Texas. His lengthy work history includes stints as Critical Care Nurse in pediatric intensive care, cardiovascular intensive care, thoracic / vascular surgery, pulmonary and emergency services.

​There are many more accomplishments too numerous to list but as you can see Chief Morrow comes to Austin County EMS prepared to tackle the future of this department while respecting the past.
