From development of protocols that reflect the unique nature of rural EMS, to reviews of patient care records for continuous improvement and training opportunities, Austin County EMS is continually focused on providing the highest level of care for the communities it serves.

The Clinical Operations team conducts the following:
- Review and analysis of all reports related to critical care incidents
- Peer to peer case reviews with command staff, supervisors and fields crews
- Annual credentialing, evaluation and protocol review for all field personnel
- Timely feedback to field crews on patient care and reporting
- Continuing education for all emergency medical personnel
- Engagement in local and national EMS research projects
